Roughly a month ago, in preparation for the screening in August, I sent my “student film” Ped out to the lab to be scanned.

I’ve had the transferred footage for a little while now but it wasn’t until last night that I managed to give it my undivided attention.

It had been a long time since I’d seen Ped, and unfortunately, as I watched it last night in matter-of-fact high-definition, the film struck me as less than the sum of its parts and not as sound as my memory of it lead me to believe.

Consequently, after giving it some thought, I’ve decided not to screen it.

In the course of its three-minute duration Ped has a small handful of nice, short sequences–in particular a lulling rhythmic interlude of city lights reflected on a river.

I may work some of these shots into a loop-oriented forty-five-second film, but as it stands, in its original form, compared to my other work, Ped isn’t up to snuff.
